STORY:

In 2013 I seen an ad on 4m.net about looking for anybody interested in being a photographer at their local tracks and sending their pictures in to their website. So I decided to give it a try. I've grown up around dirt track racing and its always been one of my biggest dreams to have a job that has to do with racing. About a week later I got a call from LuvRacin.com director Roger Bathe, and so it began.

The first track I shot at that year was Brad McCown's Jackson County Speedway in Jackson, Ohio where I got to meet one of my hero's in racing Kenny Johnson, and from there I was hooked. I stayed at JCS for five weekends before finally branching out to other tracks. The next track I shot at was the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio. After that I decided to try a few other tracks and ventured to the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, Ohio and to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. I stayed at those four tracks most of the season except when I travelled to the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio for their Harvest 50 event. In October 2013 JCS owner Brad McCown purchased the Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio and I stayed there the rest of the season except for going to Carl Short's Dirt Track World Championship held at the Portsmouth Raceway Park that October.

I thought 2013 was a big season. I had no idea what 2014 had in store for me. Throughout the first part of the season I went to the Atomic Speedway mostly but did venture to Southern and Portsmouth a few times apiece. That was until July when Atomic Speedway owner Brad McCown asked me to be the track photographer for the Atomic Speedway. That was the biggest day in my career, getting to work for such a great track is a dream come true. I grew up going to Atomic and have always considered it my favorite track. My first race as the official photographer was the Atomic Blast on July 25th and 26th.

The 2015 season was a breakout season for the Atomic Speedway. Bringing both the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and World of Outlaw late model dirt series to the speedway. As well as the All Star Circuit of Champions and BOSS sprint series. It looked like the 2015 racing season was going to be the biggest season ever, that was until they released the schedule for the 2016 season. With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series making two stops at Atomic as they are kicking off the season with the "Buckeye Spring 50" on March 18th paying $10,000 to win and highlighting the 2016 season is the biggest race in Atomic Speedway history the $50,000 to win "Buckeye Nationals" on May 13th and 14th. Also making the trip to Atomic in 2016 will be three appearances by Tony Stewart's All Star Circuit of Champions including the "All Star Sprint Championships" on October 21st and 22nd, two stops by the BOSS sprint series, and three appearances for the Kenny Wallace Dirt Racing Experience.

Make sure to check out the schedule on the tracks website http://www.atomicspeedway.net/ and I hope to see you at the track this season. Don't forget on June 18th is Fan Appreciation Night as the general admission price is FREE!!
